Ready Aim Firearms Safety was incorporated June 11th, 2011 and is fully sanctioned by both the Chief Firearms Office of Ontario (CFO) and the Firearms Safety Education Service of Ontario (FSESO) to deliver both the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course. In addition, Ready Aim Firearms Safety Incorporated has the authorization of both the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters to deliver the Ontario Hunter Education Program through the services of provincially certified Hunter Education Instructors.  Since opening, more than 5000 individuals from the Greater Toronto Region have successfully passed their firearms and hunting courses, 12 students at a time!

Conveniently based in King City, our address is 3565 King Road, Unit 108, King City L7B 1M3 (immediately west of the 400 Highway on the south side of King Road), Ready Aim Firearms Safety Inc. offers the very best of firearms safety training for both restricted (handgun) and non-restricted (long gun) firearms classifications, in addition to offering the Ontario Hunter Education Program.

Company founder and Lead Instructor, Tony Cooper, is the former Deputy Chief Firearms Officer for Ontario as well as the past Executive Manager of the Firearms Safety Education Service of Ontario.  Now with 7 years of Course Instruction experience, Tony is well versed in firearms legislation and what it takes to successfully obtain a firearms licence for individuals and businesses in the province of Ontario.

Together with over 33 years of law enforcement experience, including assignments with the York Regional Police, the Ontario Provincial Police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Tony has extensive experience teaching firearms safe handling in both Canada and the United States including tactical firearms training, shooting range construction and design and range safety. As Deputy Chief Firearms Officer for Ontario for the last 5 years of his well rounded career, Tony brings unprecedented knowledge and credibility to this company.  Further, he is willing to provide letters of reference for those successful course graduates seeking careers in law enforcement or armed security as required.

When not snowmobiling, snowshoeing or skiing with his family,and friends in Horseshoe Valley during the winter months, Tony can be found at his real home on the French River where he is an avid fisherman and hunter of both big and small game, with over 45 years of firearms hunting experience in Canada and the United States.

Instructor Soren Madsen brings more than 45 years of safe firearms handling and big game hunting experience to the classroom. He is a competent gunsmith who hand loads his own custom ammunition and hunts extensively throughout Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba. A seasoned high angle rescue technician, Soren has been a member of the Canadian Ski Patrol program for more than three decades working in Ontario and the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia.  Soren also volunteers as a Canadian Ski Patrol Instructor and works during the winter as a cat ski guide in Revelstoke, BC.  Highly respected in his fields of expertise, Soren thoroughly enjoys teaching firearms safety and sharing his experience with others.

Instructor John Herd is a veteran law enforcement officer who started his distinguished career in the Canadian Border Services Agency where, among other specialty assignments, John instructed firearms safe handing to CBSA agents.   Now a retired member of the Barrie City Police Service, John brings a wealth of practical firearms handling experience into the classroom.  When not instructing firearms safety courses, John volunteers his off duty time as a member of the Canadian Ski Patrol working in Horseshoe Valley.

Instructor Andy Dennis is a knowledgeable, veteran instructor of the Ontario Hunter Education Program bringing a wealth of hunting experience, both archery and firearms, to the classroom.  A resident of Burlington, Ontario, Andy is no stranger to safe firearms handling and promoting respectful, ethical hunting practices is his passion.

Instructor Justin Frye, born in Collingwood, Ontario is a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces.  An expert paratrooper, Justin was based at CFB Petawawa. He completed two overseas deployments in Cyprus (1993) and Yugoslavia (1994) before spending two years touring North America as a member of the elite Canadian Forces Parachute Team, “The Sky Hawks”.  Honorarily discharged from the military (with distinction) after 8 years of dedicated service he not surprisingly chose to pursue a career in law enforcement.

Now a sworn Police Officer, Justin has seen service in the Emergency Response Unit (S.W.A.T) as a both a police tactical operator and sniper. Further, he has competed at the team level in combat pistol shooting.  Justin was subsequently selected for the Training Branch, where he has trained hundreds of police officers and police recruits in self defense, use of force, first aid, CPR and tactical pistol shooting.

Justin is a provincial firearms instructor and one of a select group of individuals designated by the Chief Firearms Officer to instruct and examine individuals for firearms licensing purposes. Justin is quite simply, an authority on all aspects of firearms related training. In addition, he is a Hunter Safety Education instructor and a certified Wild Turkey Examiner.

Instructor Jason Frye, born in Collingwood, Ontario is a six year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, Princess Patricia`s Canadian Light Infantry and the Queens Own Rifles.  A Police Officer since 1998, Jason was a member of the Toronto Police Service prestigious Emergency Task Force (ETF), before transferring to the Barrie City Police Service.   Serving both Uniform and Marine patrols, Jason now works as an In-Service Training Officer who specializes in firearms and use of force training for all new recruits, as well as annual re qualification of veteran Police Officers.

When not at work or instructing, Jason spends a great deal of his time hunting with his twin brother Justin, his father and his son, Michael.  Himself a certified Hunter Education Instructor, Jason embraces every opportunity to teach firearms safe handling and safe, ethical hunting techniques to men, women and children alike. His depth of experience compliments his excellent teaching skills, affording his students a great learning opportunity.  Those he teaches leave the classroom completely comfortable in all aspects of firearms safety and responsible gun ownership.
