Ready Aim Firearms Safety Inc. offers the very best of firearms safety training for both the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Courses. We also offer the Ontario Hunter Education Program.
Our Canadian Firearms Safety Course (long guns) is 10 hours in duration, starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m. and is followed by the mandatory, legislated, Canadian Firearms Program written test and practical gun handling examination.
Our Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (hand guns) is an additional 8 hours in length, starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. if it is taken within 30 days of successful completion of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course. This course is also followed by a written test consisting of 50 true or false and multiple-choice questions as well as a practical firearms handling examination. You need to take this course in order to get your “RPAL” Firearms Licence. This course is an addition and it can only be taken after successful completion of the Canadian Firearms Safety (long gun) “PAL” course. This course must also be paid in full upon booking.
We run combination CFSC/CRFSC courses on almost all weekends and also schedule combination classes during week-days. Class sizes vary from 8 minimum to12 students maximum so that you get plenty of time for one to one instructor-student interaction. All classes start with a course overview, introduction to all training firearms and preliminary safe firearms handling demonstrations by your instructor. Ready Aim Firearms Safety Inc., uses state-of-the-art audio and video instruction techniques and has an inventory of over 50 Non-Restricted and Restricted training firearms.
Please note that as of June, 2015 individual “Challenges” of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course has been discontinued by the Director of the Canadian Firearms Program.
Hunting Licence and Hunter Education:
The Ontario Hunter Education course consists of 10 hours of classroom instruction during which you will learn about safe, ethical hunting practices, ecology and habitat, identification of wild game, wild game habits and life cycles. You will understand the value of proper shot placement, tracking, field dressing (including care and consumption of game meat), respect for the wilderness, private property and relevant hunting laws and regulations with respect to use of firearms and archery equipment. In addition, students learns how to survive in the wilderness, choice of appropriate clothing, overland navigation and wilderness safely. A 70 question, multiple choice, open book written exam follows the classroom instruction. The course is open to students ages 12 years and older. This fee includes your final examination and student manual. This course must be paid in full upon booking in order to guarantee your seat.
WILD TURKEY ENDORSEMENT:
Effective January 1, 2017 the Wild Turkey licence will be included in the regular day of Hunter Education Program course training standards. Students will no longer have to purchase a Wild Turkey training DVD, nor will they have to write a separate examination in order to lawfully hunt WildTurkey in Ontario in either the Spring or the Fall seasons. Passing the Ontario Hunter Education Program will now qualitfy students to also hunt wild turkey.
